Sunrise In The City

lyrics

Sunrise in the city
And the children on the corner
They reflect the glory of the lord
In their beaming eyes
But we say
"Stop your laughing and
Stop being children
Stop playing games
The real world's about
Not living for today"

So they say
"Please pray for me
And my sister you see
Dad shoved us in the corner
To be fathered by tv"

Sunrise in the city
And those kids with their boredom
They reflect broken promises
And lifetimes of neglect
Cause we say
"Stop your laughing and
Stop being children
Stop playing games
The real world's about
Not living for today"

So I say
"Please pray for me
Or better yet for my tv
That it grows arms and says
'I love you'
While it rocks my kids to sleep"
